The very first time I saw stamping I knew I was hooked. I saw a sample board at a craft store. So I took an offered class & was very disappointed all they did was give us supplies & let us go! Well that did not work well for me so I started making some phone calls & found someone that knew someone & she lived in the state of Washington. But she was coming to town for the Holidays. Now mind you this was 1999. I made arrangements to meet this person at her mother in laws house here in Binghamton.
We did get together she brought some supplies with her & she showed me a few things. NOW I was impressed.
She showed me:
stamping
paper ripping
chalks
& even embossing!
She even shared a Stampin Up catalog with me.
I went home hooked & ready for more. We played alot that day but only made one complete card & here it is. It includes an old Stampin Up set called "A Song in My Heart"
Funny thing is I still like this card. I hope you do too! Boy have I learned alot since then.

oh wow! what a great post! I wish I would have kept some of my first creations! This is so cool! Thanks for sharing!

I like your card a lot, too, Joanne!
A few years ago, a stamping friend of mine was "on the road" in her RV with her recently retired husband for most of the year. She had limited space to take along stamping supplies, so instead she packed all of the cards she'd done many years prior to that as a beginner. We all had fun receiving her cards and seeing how she used to stamp.
Thanks for sharing that story and that card with us.

I think this is a great first card. I wish I had saved some of mine.

That is such a lovely piece of writing. Nearly 10 years of stamping and you still find new things to share with us.
